Year 11 Physics & Chemistry - ANSTO Excursion
Year 11 Physics and Chemistry classes headed off to visit the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) at Lucas Heights. We learnt about radiation, its measurement and the causes of radioactivity. It surprised us to find out that some common household substances including bananas are radioactive! We watched a live feed of the Open Pool Australian Lightwater (OPAL) reactor where radioactive isotopes are manufactured for medical and industrial uses, silicon is irradiated for semiconductors and neutrons are produced for research. The students saw the instruments used for neutron scattering and the research that the scientists are able to conduct on chemicals including anti-venom. Our final stop was at the Centre for Accelerator Science where we walked along the accelerator tubes seeing the huge magnets that direct the beams of particles. It was a fascinating insight into the work and research conducted by the scientists.
Year 6 Graduation
The Year 6 Graduation Dinner had all the glitz and glam of the Aria Awards. The school's theatre performance room was beautifully decorated and transformed by our very own artist, Mrs Suzie White, into a dining theatre grand room. Year 6 gentlemen and gentle ladies took to the red carpet, beautifully clad in their best outfits and were welcomed by cheering staff and well wishers. They looked like celebrities, grown up, handsome and beautiful. Their excitement was evident in their glamorous smiles, laughter and party mood. The evening was variegated with song, laughter, sumptuous food, talent show items, baby photo collages, a special fun item which had the crowd in uncontrollable laughter and a celebrity photo video of their time spent in primary school.
All in all, it was a night to remember for our much loved students. Special thanks to Mrs Suzie White who put the evening plans and decor together, Mrs Truman and Mrs Hawkins for the preparation of the sumptuous meals, Year 6 teachers and parents who attended to celebrate with them and Mrs Rani Joseph for comparing the evening.
We wish our Year 6 students every blessing as they prepare to start their new journey into secondary school. It's been a great pleasure to have nurtured them with Christian values in their primary school years.
Year 12 Graduation - Meze Me
The Year 12 Valedictory Dinner was held on the evening of November 16 at Meze Me , Annangrove. Our students looked stunning in their formal wear. Teachers in attendance appreciated the opportunity of being able to celebrate with the soon-to-be student Alumni. A few parents joining for the evening wiped away a few tears as their daughters and sons embark on the next journey in life.
Thanks go to Mrs Suzi White for all her work in helping organise the event and for bringing a celebratory mood to the night with her ability to appropriately decorate a venue.

From time-to-time students accidentally collect items of school clothing that belongs to another student. The most common articles are sports jackets, hats, jumpers and school blazers. Please check labels to see if your child is in possession of another student's clothing. We also strongly encourage families to write names on all labels so that they can be returned if lost.
Trading of swap cards, toys and food
We ask parents and guardians to be aware that students are not allowed to trade swap cards (Pokemon, Dragonball Z, football cards etc), toys and/or food at school.
